Michael began his musical studies s with piano lessons at the age of 9. A new instrument installed in his hometown Methodist church and the encouragement of his grandmother gave birth to a passion that continues to this day. While majoring in English at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, he pursued organ studies with Rebecca Borthwick. His organ teachers have also included Craig Dobbins, John Walker, Robert Glasgow and Richard Fitzgerald. Michael serves as organist for Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church in Upper Arlington, OH and recently accompanied the Saint Mark’s Choir under the direction of Dr. Matthew Bester for their choral residency at Wells Cathedral in the UK. He is an active member of the American Guild of Organists and serves on the Columbus chapter’s board.
