Ralph Fanning (1889-1971)
Born: 1889 – Riverhead, Long Island, New York Died: 1971 – Riverhead, Long Island, New York
Columbus resident, member of the First Congregational Church and distinguished art and architecture historian at Ohio State University. Was influenced by Alice Schille at the Columbus Art School, and by Schille’s Post-Impressionist works. Fanning’s Barcelona (1936), is a superb example by this regional artist.
